Offenses:
Attempting to Withhold
Medical Treatment from a Child: Shurtleff
co-signed a
letter on August 11, 2003, ordering the Burzynski Clinic
(specializing in cancer treatment) to not provide a young
man, Parker Jensen, with any treatment, which included
potentially life-saving treatment.
Directing the Slaughter of
Unborn Infants: Shurtleff's office admitted to secretly
collaborating in 2004 to undermine a bill to prevent
taxpayer funds from being used to perform abortions on
demand. Shurtleff's office helped to draft and then
publicly defended an administrative rule accomplishing this.

Utterly Refusing to Right
Injustices Against Families: Despite receiving hundreds
of requests for appointments, Shurtleff continues to direct
attacks against innocent families.

Shurtleff's abuses have been
so horrible, even agents with the notoriously anti-family
Utah Department of Child and Family "Services" (DCFS)
have complained.
Even after the
legislative audit found that there was no grounds for
the state to seize the Bierly children, Shurtleff has
refused to take any meaningful action.
To this day, his office continues to harass vegan Thaxton
family.

Lying to Innocent Families
to Obtain Office: In the Utah State Bar Association
Journal, October 2000, Shurtleff stated: "It's time for the
Attorney General to get back to basics: protecting the
Constitution, defending families and fighting crime... If
elected, I will not pursue pet projects which eclipse or
dilute my statutory responsibilities to provide effective
legal counsel to the state and its agencies. Overall, I will
be dedicated to administrative fiscal responsibility,
professionalism and accountability."

Threatening Clergy to
Attack Innocent Families: Shurtleff wrote a letter on
March 4, 2003, to Utah clergy members, demanding that they
report even the flimsiest accusations to police (based upon
any "reason to believe" that any abuse or neglect has
occurred).

Lobbying Against Parental
Rights to Make Medical Decisions:
Shurtleff and his underlings
Craig Barlow and Alain Balmanno lobbied to kill SB 90 S4
(amended) in 2004.
