News 9/1/03:
CANCELLED:
Saturday's "Parental Rights Action-Rally."
AU Citizen Action
Town Meeting planned Sep. 20!
Summary
To avoid confusion, this Saturday's (Sept. 6,
2003) "Parental Rights Action-Rally" has been cancelled.
To further clarify, the Jensen family rally on
Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) at 11:00 AM at the State Capitol has
NOT
been cancelled.
Accountability Utah is not involved in the planning process of
that rally.
Accountability Utah is
calling a Citizen Action Town
Meeting on Parental Rights Reform on September 20 in
SLC. All citizens who wish to take action are invited to
attend. Learn more about it.
More Families
are Being Attacked
Several new DCFS abuses have
developed since the Jensen family situation. We will
briefly report on the status of some of these cases at our
citizen action meeting.
Citizens Must
Know the Law to Reform the Law
Accountability Utah's citizen
action meeting will feature free training from experienced
parental rights, due process, and judicial reform activists.
The goal is to help every attendee to understand what has gone
wrong in Utah and what they can do about it. Training
will include insights on how elected officials avoid
accountability and effective tactics in dealing with them.
Reactive Training: What to Do When DCFS Comes Knocking!
We will also offer reactive
training on what to do if DCFS attacks your family (or your
neighbor's family). What do you when they come to your
door? Who do you call for assistance? What can
decent neighbors do to help? How can innocent people
remove their name from the state child abuse registry (yes,
this is a legitimate issue)?
Prepare
Yourself for Action!
In preparation for
Accountability Utah's citizen action meeting, read the
Citizen
Resolution (in .pdf format) that will be circulated to
attendees. Citizens can take the petition home, share it
with their family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors, and
join in a state-wide educational action-campaign to restore
the parental rights of Utah parents and families.
If you wish to begin speaking
with your neighbors and collecting signatures now, please feel
free to do so. Once you have collected signatures, make
multiple copies and hand deliver, mail, or fax a copy of them
to one or more of the following elected officials:
