Subject: Can you help?

Dear friends,

I need help for two hours time next Saturday, July 2, starting at 11:00am. Here's my story.

On Thursday evening, Lora Mengucci and I tried to get in to see a psych patient at Highland Ridge Hospital in Midvale (7309 S. 180 W.) The head psych refused us access.

What's worse - and completely illegal- is that he also refused access to the attorney I subsequently hired for this patient.

Formal complaints and appropriate phone calls to the authorities will be made against this psych starting Monday.

But, that is not enough!

If I allow one psych to keep CCHR or an attorney out, they all think that they can get away with it. We can't have that! The psychs are getting more and more arrogant and need to get a strong message that this will not be tolerated.

This woman was transported to another psych hospital on Friday morning for involuntary commitment for 90 days. She never got proper legal representation.

Therefore, I am holding a peaceful protest in front of this hospital next Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm. We will hold a few signs and pass out flyers to anyone who wants one.

The last time I asked for physical help was in March of 2003 at the Capitol. I am asking for it again, and I really need it. Who can I count on?

Much ARC,
Sandra
